If you pass by the shop often you’ve probably met Mike!  Mike is a recently retired teacher from Thunder Bay. He is often in Toronto and when he passes by the shop he usually sets up a table and vice and starts tying, and takes time to chat with customers about where they've been, where they're going, and eagerly answers questions on his fly tying.

To say Mike's tying is impressive is a tremendous understatement. His tying ranges from simple streamers to delicate and elegantly dressed classics, which he fishes everywhere from his home waters on the North Shore of Superior near Thunder Bay, to the epic rivers of British Columbia. Mike will be in the shop demonstrating how to tie his versions of a Hobo Spey, a simple yet incredible effective tube leech, and he may throw in a classic featherwing Spey fly if he has time!   Come on down, grab a chair, and learn.

There is no charge for this demonstration only a requested donation of $5 for the Friends of the Grand River for those who observe and attend.

Here are some pics of Mike's flies and the, man himself, Mike Sewards -
